Why was lightning standing in the garage?
To: nickcarraway
My first thought! How did he get the lightening to do that? And what happened to the requirement that people be literate before they are allowed to write headlines?

We had two teenage girls killed by lightning in my county not 10 miles from where this teen was struck.
We’ve had those afternoon pop up tstorms all week...and they’ve produced some spectacular lightning shows. Knocked out our power about 4 hours last night.

Lightning is something I respect. If you hear thunder, lightning could strike at any time.
Take to the indoors and unplug the computer, flatscreen, etc.
Our roof, siding, air conditioning unit took it bad in our area last Saturday. It was the 3” hail that did the damage, but always beware the lightning.

"It happened so fast. It was just an instant. Just to see the look in his eyes and hear him scream" said Richard Bryan, Owens' father. Owens suffered no burns or scarring, according to his mother, and was released from the hospital on Thursday.
Perhaps he wasn't actually struck, but simply had the $#%+ scared out of him?

My brother was indirectly zapped by lightening during an electrical storm while standing barefoot in our garage when I was a kid. He wanted to watch the storm. A strike hit nearby and the charge traveled through the ground , up through the soles of his feet. He jumped about a foot in the air and then ran inside. He never did that again.

I recall Johnny Carson had a guy on his show years ago who had been struck by lightning several times - 6 times as I recall. He was struck inside his truck, & inside his home while sitting on his easy chair. He has had both his hat & shoes toasted, but he suffered only minor burns from the strikes. It got so bad he would leave his family during a storm to protect them.
