Ya know what, I tend to agree with you. That's why I posted this article, to see who would talk shit and who would contact me and others to build a resistance. Other than some passionate posts on this thread, no one, I repeat, NO ONE has contacted me. Which proves your point.

No. It cannot be restored.

This is a sincere question. Got answer? My simple answer is again: STATES' RIGHTS.

We tried that, 145 years ago. Result: 620,000 soldiers and God only knows how many innocent civilians killed, and the federal government more in control than before.

Got other? I'm open.

A return to traditional Western culture, and the political system that organically developed from it, i.e. monarchy.

I'm not giving up on anything. I have a child. I can't give up. I am an optimist, and I believe in a bright future. But our current political system isn't going to be a part of that future. It is derived from a set of fundamental principles that do not accord with the world as it is. Any attempt to fix or prop up the current system is doomed to fail, and, if such an attempt involves rebellion, is going to get a lot of people killed for nothing.

My strategy is survival. The last time the world system collapsed, civilization was preserved and ultimately restored by small communities of intensely Christian monks and the communities that grew up around them. They safeguarded the spiritual and intellectual patrimony of the West while the Roman Empire crumbled. Four hundred years later, in A.D. 800, when the natural political order of the West was restored with the revival of the Roman Empire, the monasteries were there, ready to spread culture and learning across Europe.

We should be preparing to do the same, not wasting our time fantasizing about being brave freedom fighters or whatever. This isn't Star Wars, some fantasy about plucky rebels overthrowing the Galactic Empire and restoring the Republic. (The Republic, frankly, sucked, and Anakin was right about a lot of things.) This is reality, and in reality any attempt to overthrow the Empire will only result in a bunch of naïve people dying meaningless, anonymous deaths.

You know what our guys did to the towelheads in Iraq? That's what they'll do to us if they're ordered to. You may not accept that reality, but it remains real anyway. Live with it.
