As written in another thread: If the Repubs had any cojones, they would be screaming to high heaven about the lack of response and the EPA/Coast Guard restrictions that have kept so many from cleaning up the mess.

No matter how much they (liberals) try to spin this for being Bush's fault (according to Alan Colmes today on O'Reilly), this is the "community organizer's (obambi)" mess to fix. He has done nothing.

Hell, I was a "community organizer" and I knew from day 3 what to do. That would be accept all Nation offers to help with engineering and cleanup; mobilize the National Guard; mobilize FEMA; and not kill more jobs with a stupid moratorium of stopping ALL deep water drilling because of ONE blowout out of thousands while killing thousands of American jobs.

I hate this man and everything he stands for. This man/child marxist, along with his fellow travelers reid/pelosi will be the death of our Republic. Rome fell from within due to similar thinking and give aways - think gladiator entertainment. The United Kingdom has fallen from within due to political correctness and stupid weapons control.

Many other world nations have fallen because of their own populace wanting stuff. Surprisingly, France and Germany is getting fed up with their socialist encroachment on their culture. Good for them.

I never thought I would see the day that the leader of the Free World would actually BOW to foreign potentates. Every time I see those photos, I get sick at heart.

So, you think he has the cojones to send in the military if there was a large scale uprising? He's a Chicago punk. And like all punks, when you stand up to them, they back down to save their own political skin.

I am an 11 year Vet and an owner/operator of 3 companies. I've been a political street activist as far back as 1997, but I have recently realized that our only Constitutional salvation is:

STATES' RIGHTS! Think about what that! Nullification is the way back. What is DC going to do with such a peaceful rebellion that just says NO? Attack the Individual States? Won't happen. Lawsuits? Probably. But the Constitutional Amendments are clear. Even if the USSC goes against us, what authority do they have to enforce their decisions if "We The People" decide their decisions are null to "original intent"? Civil War II? Ain't gonna happen. RWII, possibly.

Are you going to allow the greatest experiment in self-determination to die without a fight? Well, I'm not. I will give my fortune (such as it is), my sacred honor, and my life. As long as my family is secure, I will DIE for my beliefs. Will you?

Ps. We all die. What value do you place on your death is the question I ask. Wanna waste away in some senior death facility hooked up to tubes and semi-conscience? Or would you rather go out fighting? I'm sure the military grunts can tell us how much it hurts, but so does dying of cancer or other painful diseases. Your choice. Time to make a decision...die in bed or die making a difference. It really is coming to that.

I will stay here and fight. I will never give in. There are more of us and our numbers will keep increasing.

Socialism will bring incredible misery to the very people who believed Hussein’s Happy Hopey Horse$hit. The misery will bring these people to a new awareness. Lots of them will begin to grasp the benefits of limited government and free market capitalism as their empty bellies begin to growl. Then they will be ready to fight too.

I am looking forward to a confrontation, if it comes to that.

First a quote from Thomas Jefferson, which is seldom represented in its full context. NB— it explicitly calls for the blood of patriots AND TYRANTS.

“God forbid we should ever be twenty years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, and always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented, in proportion to the importance of the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty. ...

And what country can preserve its liberties, if its rulers are not warned from time to time, that this people preserve the spirit of resistance?

Let them take arms. (Yes, JEFFERSON wrote that)

The remedy is to set them right as to the facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two?

The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure.”

Now a quote from The Federalist #22 (Hamilton)

“The fabric of American Empire ought to rest on the solid basis of THE CONSENT OF THE PEOPLE. The streams of national power ought to flow from that pure, original fountain of all legitimate authority.”

Now one from Federalist #53 (Madison)

“The important distinction so well understood in America between a constitution established by the people, and unalterable by the government; and a law established by the government, and alterable by the government, seems to have been little understood and less observed in any other country.”

That’s a big’un ... that the constitution is established and altered by only the people, not the government.

And finally, another from Madison, Federalist #45

“The powers delegated by the ... Constitution to the federal government are few and defined. Those which are to remain in the State governments are numerous and indefinite.”

Long live States’ rights.

In closing, I present the following thoughts on the definition of tyranny which we fought to overthrow and crafted a government to forever prevent: “ The accumulation of all powers, legislative, executive, and judiciary, in the same hands, whether of on,e or a few, or many and whether hereditary, self-appointed, or elective, may justly be pronounced the very definition of tyranny.” Federalist #48 (Madison)

May God have mercy on us all.

I live in a VERY lefty city....Austin.

1) I’m already ,front and center, with the left while engaging them DAILY over the direction and future of this country.

2) Some of the debates are civil and some are not.

3) Eventually there will be fewer debates and the likely hood of this cold war between the left and conservatives will turn hot.

4) DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE the left if this conflict goes hot...

5) When and if it goes hot, remember, the only rule is to live and let the other SOB die for his beliefs.

So, you think he has the cojones to send in the military if there was a large scale uprising?

Is that the turning point? Is that the action that will cause patriots to rise up? We've already rolled over for much more tyranny than the founders would. Sending in the military, especially under the guise of protection of the citizens, probably wouldn't phase the average folks and certainly not the average O voter. So then what?

The situation is analogous to many of the gun confiscation threads out there. "I'll return my guns one bullet at a time!". Well, I applaud the sentiment but are you really going to enter into a gunfight with a SWAT team?

Bravado is one thing, sensible disobediance is another. Is there some plan out there to end this not-so-soft tyranny or are we just waiting for something to happen then just winging it?

“If all else fails, I will retreat up the valley of Virginia, plant my flag on the Blue Ridge, rally around the Scots-Irish of that region, and make my last stand for liberty amongst a people who will never submit to British tyranny whilst there is a man left to draw a trigger.”

George Washington at Valley Forge.

Replace the word “British” with Socialist and you have it.

If you ask the RINOs in Congress what they will do, it will sound something like:

I intend to express my concerns to the Democrat leadership and the White House in the strongest terms.
