And most of the time there’s NOT a rational reason whatsoever.

Well, for your information, it was a rational reason here to keep them illegal since we hadn't had rain in several weeks before the fourth of July.

Some idiots almost burned down a few houses by illegally using them and running off and leaving lawns on fire. IMO, they should have done hard time for it.

I'm sure they would have plead 'sorry we were just having fun' if someone had lost a house and/or family to a fire!

I believe that’s called arson, and it is a felony. Here in Texas, fireworks are illegal in Harris County, but not adjacent counties - I guess dry weather is localized - EVERY YEAR, since the law has nothing to do with the conditions.
