My girl friend need helps. But I don't know how to help her. her brother (35 yo) got a ticket for "unlawful posession of illegal fireworks" on Jul 4. he went to the court , the judge told him to get a lawyer (his income is a little bit too high to get a public defender). it costs $2000 for lawyer. it's rediculous to spend $2000 for having fun with fireworks on Jul 4. the lawyer said, he can pledge on his own at court, but if what ever he says do not make sense, he will go jail for 90 days plus a big fine. it's the first time he got a silly ticket like that . I would appreciate if any one could give me an idea.
Turn the volume of firecracker down you mean ?
He needs to bite the bullet and get a lawyer, even if it’s $2,000. A criminal conviction will follow him for the rest of his life and he will wish that he had gotten a beter lawyer every time he fills out a job application. Many lawyers take credit cards.
The legal system is meant to protect the rights of victims and criminals alike. In most areas the legal system is still a good ol’ boys network. He needs someone who is well versed in that area of law and has a history of dealing with the local justice system there.
BTW, some info on which state this is in would help. Think before posting. And spell check.
Care to try it without personal attacks?
Personally, I don’t think you can deal with someone that doesn’t agree with you without resorting to insults.
You have statist-authoritarian leanings. Those leanings don’t accept non conformity to your world view and opinions.
Rules. You love them and don’t know what to do with those that don’t need as many as you or as you want to impose on others.
I should have stopped with “inane, red-herring.” That pretty well sums up everything you said since. BTW calling someone a “statist” “authoritarian” is pretty much a personal attack, so take you affectation of superiority and humbrage and stick it where the sun don’t shine. I only respond with personal attacks when personally attacked.
Bye.
Okie !
Thanks for your comment
Wow. I guess you told me off!
I’m thinking you need more hugs and less coffee.
