We have one wedding on our calendar, in August. I don’t think there is any trend, but a whole social group kind of moves together, I think. There was a cluster of weddings in our social circles over the span of a couple of years when my husband and I got married. And then no more wedding invitations for a couple of years. Now, it’s about once every two years that a wedding invitation comes up.

I have one more wedding to attend (my “niece” via best friend), and then I will probably never have to attend another wedding in my life (unless God intends for me to get married.) There do seem to be cycles, probably a generational thing.

I’ve been honored to attend the weddings I’ve been invited to, but I won’t mind never having to go to a reception again. My mother, OTOH, loves wedding cake and weddings in general.

OH and we have not been on the invite to wedding list in over 2 decades.

Let alone them all working closely with us daily.
