We recovering drunks understand what our way too compassionate society does not...YOU NEED TO HIT BOTTOM...You need to feel the pain..the consequences of your actions...If the gullible public understood what the success rate of rehab is, they'd be mortified. It's something like 5%. It's the easier, softer way not compassionate by any stretch of the imagination.
That being said, I have nothing against rehab, but not as an alternative to jail. Sorry.

Exactly. Maybe this will be her bottom. A judge can force her to go to treatment but if she is not serious then that is a waste of time.
