I agree. Typical government interference, the end result of which is that the girl could have drowned in order to protect their ‘rules’. This happened with the Coast Guard off the coast of Mass. some years ago, with one man losing his life in a turtled boat because the CG wouldn’t allow a private salvager anywhere near the boat.

Sheriff should have shaken his hand and said good work...another small town sheriff with a (my territory) problem while a girl may be drowning. Add to that the sheriff came off looking bad and incompetent it was sure to lead to an arrest....by a jerk My father was a policeman in Detroit so I am not against cops, just dumb ones...

Sounds like this sheriff got his feelings hurt because he did not get the glory from the rescue? Kudos to the two employees who actually did the rescue! This sheriff is acting like a total absolute jerk!
