Rush’s ego trip is a ruse that pokes fun at liberal broadcasters.

Well, if you choose to interpret it as such. As for me, it's very obvious that there is not enough mustard to cover that hotdog, to borrow from someone's phraseology. I think that the man loves everything about himself.

He always says a person needs to like him/herself and be comfortable in his/her own skin. Some call it arrogance. He calls it self confidence.

I do to a large extent. I realize entertainers have certain issues simply because they're entertainers; it's pretty much a prerequisite. Rush wouldn't have the troubles with marriages and drugs otherwise.

However, the egotistical part of the comedic material he broadcasts is in my opinion a far sight from how he actually perceives himself and especially his audience.

I don't understand how anybody can take that "half my brain tied behind my back, Atilla The Hun chair" stuff seriously, given the people he's lampooning every day. He is purposefully trying to infuriate the people whose politics are essentially their religion. And by the looks of it he does an excellent job of it.
