One thing is there are "drives" that interface between IDE/SATA ports and a SD Chip that goes into cameras. I have picked up a simple 4 GB chip and used it with
OpenBSD operating system. Boots up very fast !
Sooner or later you’re going to lose your ass there. Reliability is better than it used to be, but if you can’t afford to lose it, don’t trust it to a $20 card.
