Adruis Ovalles, 15, stabs and kills his mother's boyfriend Albert Hartzog for cutting off cable

He killed for cable.

A Bronx teenager, enraged that his mother's live-in boyfriend turned off the cable in their apartment, plunged a kitchen knife into the man's chest, police and relatives said Saturday.

Adruis Ovalles, 15, jabbed the blade into 26-year-old Albert (Matthew) Hartzog's chest three times, ignoring his mother's cries to stop. Blood splattered throughout the tiny but well-kept Walton Ave. apartment as the life seeped out of Hartzog on Friday.

"The kid was mad he couldn't watch TV," said a tearful Amy Hartzog, the victim's aunt.

"I talked to [Hartzog] just before he got stabbed," she said. "He said they were fighting about the cable."

As Albert Hartzog staggered to the apartment hallway and collapsed, Ovalles calmly walked into his bedroom and dropped the knife. He then stood in the doorway of the apartment and waited to be arrested, police said.

Ovalles was charged with murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon, police said. Hartzog, who became a new father just a month ago, died before paramedics could reach the apartment in the Sonia Sotomayor Houses.

Exactly

Use to carry a Buck knife on my belt when in the army. A police officer accused me of having a weapon on my belt. I said “what weapon. it’s a tool.” I use a Leatherman now.

Every blinking thing is a weapon. rocks, fists, workboots.

In this benighted commonwealth, police often charge someone with "assault with a deadly weapon, to wit a shod foot."

Thanks for the photo. A picture is, indeed, worth 1000 words.

Tragic, but frankly? I’m not surprised.

Too many things wrong with this story, so I'll just say this...

the Sonia Sotomayor Houses.

W

THF???????????

When I am worried if my move to the country is the wrong thing to do, I just read the news. Then I can't leave fast enough.

Did you see the story the other day of the kid who got mad because an older man took the gas pump he wanted to use? He killed the guy. 21 year old kid, the man was 67.

Someone tried to start a group on Facebook called the National Association for the Advancement of Cracker People, which I thought was hilarious. FB kept shutting it down of course cause that's racist!!!!!!!!! yawn

Last I knew they were trying the name Cracka Nation.

The area around Wachula and Arcadia Florida is very proud of the term Cracker. The cowboys ride the Cracker Trail in celebration of their heritage. There is Cracker Lake camp ground. The term came from the use of the long whips for cattle herding. I can think of a few thing these whips might be put to good use for lately. It is my understanding the term “red neck” came from the bandana they also used. I guess hard working, salt of the earth people should be despised these days.

When I was stationed at Ft. Lee, VA they did a search of on-post autos. When they looked in my trunk they found my 5 hp outboard motor, fishing tackle, and my filleting knife. The idiots took my fillet knife and would not return it until I was reassigned.

All bureaucraps are stupid. And that was in 1972.

In Merry olde England now, the # one method of homicide is “putting the boot in”

I had to look up the definition of that term:

put the boot in (British informal)

1. to make a bad situation worse:
He lost his job and then his wife put the boot in by announcing she was leaving him.

2. to attack someone by kicking them again and again, usually when they are lying on the ground:
Four lads pushed him down and then put the boot in.
