First, Massachusetts is only 5% black.

"I was embarrassed for our city of Boston, which is trying hard to project an image of inclusion and to leave behind the racism of the past."

Is it really? Most Bostonians are Democrat types, the same type people who just lionized Klan leader Robert Byrd. There is nothing "inclusive" about Democrats.

I live in Boston, have lived in the city or around it for my whole life, and for the first time am seriously considering moving away. I seem to be an idiot magnet lately, and have been talking to democrats about politics.

They know nothing about the political situation. I stress this: NOTHING. They "know" in their gut all they need to know. Gov. Palin, Scott Brown, George W. Bush, Ronald Reagan--all are not just pols they don't like, they're evil. Ted Kennedy was a saint. I engage these people on issues, citing specific policies, actions, votes, bills--they know NOTHING about any of them.

They Just Know.

I used to revel in destroying these people. That they were liberal didn't bother me because I was stupid enough to believe that once they read, looked into history, eduated themselves on policy, or (Gaia forbid!) actually worked with the homeless, troubled kids and folks who are trying to play the system (as I have done and do now--never a government employee, but all the jobs I've had the last 8 years or so have been with companies that work with these groups)--well, I thought their brain cells might actually lead them to logical conclusions.

I don't think I was dumb, I think I just have always believed that if enough information was available and people were TRULY interested in reality, they'd investigate and learn.

I guess I never admitted that this emotion-based Oprah-era way of not thinking but just Believing has taken over massive sections of our population, and will never, ever be turned back.

Indeed, there is nothing inclusive about Democrats, but they actually believe that counting the number of "non-white" faces (as opposed to the true diversity--thought and belief) is what someone who's worried about inclusion actually does. Their lack of insight into their own souls is staggering.

I never heard the “n” word used daily by natives of a city until I moved to Boston while attending college. Yes, I’m from the South.
