The field of candidates vying for the Republican nomination in Congressional District 8 just got a little smaller.
Four candidates are left in the primary after Andy Goss dropped out of the race this morning.
Goss said he will support Jesse Kelly in the primary. Goss exit leaves Kelly, Jonathan Paton, Brian Miller and Jay Quick in the race to face off against incumbent Democrat Gabrielle Giffords in November.
Goss, who works for a private military training firm, said he is too busy traveling to devote enough time to campaign fundraising. No bucks, no Buck Rogers, Goss said just before making his announcement.
Goss said he is supporting Kelly because they share the same conservative values and Kelly has shown he can work within a budget.
Kelly welcomed the new support and predicted it would help him win the primary.
This means all the conservatives in District 8 are unified in one campaign, Kelly said.
He plans to open a campaign office in Sierra Vista within the month.
Jesse Kelly!
You got that right!
Yes, Jessie! I wish Sarah would endorse him.
As do I. I can just see them standing together when the endorsement is made, hehehehehehe, him 6’5” still exuding the fitness of a Marine and her 5’7” at best civilian fitness fan, hehehehehehehe.
She cut her hair and with a TON of makeup when she was on FOX to peddle amnesty, actually looked better than usual, in my opinion. But I could still see her fangs (seriously, there is something weird about her canine teeth).
Saw that too. Looked like a bad blonde hair day to me.
Thanks for posting this SandRat. And FYI Jesse is 6’8” (but he still fears this 5’7” Fater-in-Law. :-))
LOL...yes you are SandRat.
That 6’8” standing next to Sarah Palin at the enorsement announcement even more striking.
I assume, as a Marine, he’s opposing the repeal of DODT?
Ping!
Now, if Paton will drop out and back Jesse, we would be in great shape!
Agree.. but I don’t think his ego will let him.
Paton helped pass 1070 and helped put the Health Care Freedom Act on the ballot.
He’s been a hard working precinct committeeman for many years and has worked for his constituents in LD 30.
Why should the more experienced candidate drop out?
Why should he? He has more experience and depth than the very young Kelly
I agree. I will happily and strongly support whoever wins the primary. I just believe Paton has a better chance to beat Gabby because of his depth of experience.
