Wow I just noticed that picture too, obviously this is how the Japanese prevent prop fowling or whatever it is called.

I am dying to see the Ady Gill sunk, you could tell in the first few episodes it has no business in the Southern Ocean. It looks like a speed boat that belongs in Lake Michigan rather than the roughest waters on the planet.

They broke their radar before they were even half way to the Southern Ocean. Clueless, dumb libs in action.

As CharlesWawneCT pointed out a few weeks ago Pete Bethune has actually accomplished things. He built the Earthracer, now called the Ady Gil, which was the fastest ship to circumnavigate the globe. Quite an accomplishment. When he asked Admiral Coco Puffs what the plan was the only answer he got was a vague "slow them down somehow." When Bethune asked if prop fouling really works the answer he got was "it's more the threat of prop fouling." I hope Mr. Bethune realizes the uselessness of the people he associates with and goes back to building technological marvels. I'm sure some of the things he learned building the Earthracer would be valuable to commercial shipping in terms of efficiency, materials, aerodynamics, etc. I'd rather he made actual contributions to mankind that way instead of wasting his talents on Admiral Showtime and the Granola Bandits.

Lots of ships have a bulbous nose under the waterline. I believe it is for stability in rough seas. Some of the more technical ex sailors around here can correct me. I was on subs, and those don't really apply to this situation.
