CHINO, Calif. — A parole board has denied freedom for Charles Manson follower Leslie Van Houten for the 19th time.

Van Houten was convicted of murder and conspiracy in the August 1969 slayings of wealthy grocers Leno and Rosemary La Bianca.

That was one night after actress Sharon Tate and four others were killed. Van Houten did not participate in the Tate slayings.

She was incarcerated at the California Institution for Women at Frontera, the same prison where another Manson follower, Patricia Krenwinkle, is imprisoned. Susan Atkins, the third woman convicted of murder in the crimes directed by cult leader Manson, died in prison last year after parole officials denied her dying request for freedom.

Van Houten last appeared before a parole board in 2007. Van Houten was 19 when she joined other members of the Manson cult in the killings of Leno and Rosemary La Bianca.

Everyday in this country, in places like Illinois, New Jersey, New York etc, there are murderers being released with no remorse, no concern, who don’t give a damn about their victims and who’ll murder again without batting an eye. Leslie Van Houten would get out of jail and you’d never hear about her again until she died. By the way, Van Houten wasn’t involved in the Tate murders.
..............................................................
Can you guarantee she wouldn’t do anything? As long as your being picky, Van Houten was part of the Manson family, Leslie, “Squeaky” Fromme was the nutjob that tried to kill President Fords.

No, I can’t even guarantee I won’t kill someone tomorrow. I’m not gonna start any petitions or anything to get her released. Just thought if anybody seems repentant and is a pretty sure bet to not offend again, Leslie Van Houten fits the bill. Squeaky Fromme was part of the Manson family. A die hard member to the point she carved a swastika in her forehead.

If you don't mind, I'm going to hijack this thread for a brief notation.

Over the years, Jim Jones, the anti-Christian cult leader buddy of Harvey Milk has been transformed into a right wing fundamentalist Christian radical by the press. Since Squeaky Fromme was mentioned on here, I did a quick Google of her to see what had happened to her. I may be reading too much into this, but let's look back at some of her statements:

How much will you give for the lives of your childrens children, which is yourself? How much are people willing to give up for air, earth, water, animals, and the coming generations? I think the answer to that is pretty clear.

[on her attempted assassination of Gerald Ford] I went to the Capitol and came to court specifically to draw attention to the problems of the world that directly affect my state of mind and my physical body and to offer a way to clean up the world. This is my intent.

Keep talking about moving toxic wastes, but never let it cross your mind to quit producing them. Keep Judging yourselves in Manson. Don't look in the mirror. You will serve the Earth as much as she serves you or you will commit suicide.

Pretty obviously a looney, left wing envirowhacko, right? Now, check out this publicity shot from a University of Tennessee production of Assassins.

The play was originally performed in 1990 and won several Tony Awards. Let's just say it was a hit with the Limousine Liberals. The University of Tennessee decided to do a production of it. Please note that the actors portraying John Wilkes Booth (a Confederate who hated the US), Lee Harvey Oswald (who hated the US so much he renounced his US citizenship and moved to the Soviet Union), and Lynnette Squeaky Fromme are all posing in front of the American flag. Yes people, in the deranged minds of the left, they're all right wing flag wavers!

Sorry for the hijack; on to the rest of the thread.

I'm not a big believer in paroling murderers.

A list of Kenneth McDuff's victims is here.

McDuff had the distinction of being the only person in US history to have two death row numbers. The victims listed at the site are only his known victims.

I lived in Waco when he committed his first murders, and in Austin when he kidnapped, raped and murdered Colleen Reid. He was finally executed for the murder of Melissa Northrup, who was pregnant when he raped, kidnapped and murdered her. Originally sentenced to death for his first three murders, where he kidnapped a girl and two boys, shot the boys in the face, raped the girl and then strangled her with a broomstick, his sentence was commuted when the Supreme Court overturned the death penalty. He was paroled, and committed all his other murders while on parole, although he was returned to prison briefly on several occasions for parole violations.

I believe when someone commits a murder they should either be executed or be in prison and stay in prison.

Yes, you are right about Squeaky. I should do better job of checking my sources.

However, regardless of her repentance, as the great orator, Zero, once said. That is above my paid scale.

There was no response from Leo & Rosemary LaBianca nor Sharon Tate as they were unavailable for comment.

Van Houten can rot where she is, jail

You have that dead on , From The hearing:

"Jay protested, pleading that Sharon was pregnant, so Tex shot him twice. .... the guy who was the first one killed at the Tate house by the Manson family"

Was Vincent Bulgosi there? He has been at every parole hearing. Did he die?

I don't know, in recent years he was Bugnut crazy wanting to prosecute President Bush for murder.
