"When police arrived at the LaBianca murder scene, they found various words written in blood. On the living room walls, there was "rise" and "death to pigs." Carved into Leno LaBianca's stomach was "war." Alone these seem to give no clue, but another writing on the refrigerator did. It was the incorrectly spelt "healter skelter." This led some investigators to believe the writings may have been influenced by the so-called "White Album" by the Beatles which included the song "Helter Skelter." Another song on the album, "Blackbird," used the word "arise" which may have inspired the bloody use of "rise."

The phase "death to pigs" was likely inspired by the Beatles' song "Piggies." Had police made the connection, they would have realized that "pig" was used in the previous murders at the Gary Hinman and Sharon Tate houses. At Hinman's, bloody writing said "political piggie" while "pig" was written at the Tate house."

When they got in the house, Susan [Atkins] said that in the living room there was a man on the couch and a woman on the chair reading. Then some of Susan's group stayed in the living room, while Susan went into the bedroom where Sharon was sitting on the bed talking to Jay Sebring. They quickly put nooses over Sharon and Jay's heads so that if they moved they would choke.

Frykowski ran for the door. "He was full of blood," she said and claimed that she had stabbed him three or four times. "He was bleeding and he ran to the front part, and would you believe that he was there hollering 'Help, help, somebody please help me,' and nobody came? Then we finished him off."

Susan said she saw that there was Sharon's blood on her hand and she tasted it. "Wow, what a trip! To taste death, and yet give life."

Mmmmmmm...maybe. I read her book back in the 80’s. It was very convincing, as was Tex. So, maybe. I hope so for her sake. But she was also an incredibly deceptive person. Darn near as good as the master deceiver himself.

Everyday in this country, in places like Illinois, New Jersey, New York etc, there are murderers being released with no remorse, no concern, who don’t give a damn about their victims and who’ll murder again without batting an eye. Leslie Van Houten would get out of jail and you’d never hear about her again until she died. By the way, Van Houten wasn’t involved in the Tate murders.

Squeaky Frome had nothing to do with either the Tate or the LaBianca murders.

Leslie Van Houten, Patricia Krenwinkle, Tex Watson, and Charles Manson were originally all sentenced to death. Kinda Kasabian who drove the car and stood watch turned state’s witness and she was not prosecuted.

Van Houten might never offend again and the same goes for Krenwinkle but that’s not the point. They were sentenced to death, not put in prison for rehabilitation purposes.

LWOP is not asking too much for their crimes.
