Another little oddity is that posters who claim to be local Portlanders frequently mention that no one believes that anybody else than Terri is responsible for Kyron’s disappearance..... but I wonder if this reaction is something specific to the PNW, as I can’t see this occurring in many parts of the country; afterall, as yet there is no physical evidence, ya know?
Related to you Jacob Wetterling post - here’s a how to spot a liar that was on yahoo.com’s headlines just now
(I suppose just in time for the prez address tonight...). Anyway, I thought this was interesting in relation to Terri’s emails which is full of “I” and “Me”:
“Dishonesty in writing can now be detected, thanks to psychology professor James Pennebaker and his colleagues at the University of Texas at Austin. They developed a software program, called Linguistic Inquiry and Word Count, that can uncover lies by analyzing verbal and written content. The text tip-offs include an infrequent use of both personal pronouns and exclusionary terms. Why? Pennebaker claims liars prefer distancing themselves from their fibs and are troubled by complex thinking, so terms like “I,” “me,” “mine,” and “but,” “whereas,” “nor,” and “except” aren’t likely to appear in their writing.”
