DELRAY BEACH (Florida)— A clerk armed with a gun fatally shot an armed robber at a Delray Beach convenience store Saturday evening, police said.

Authorities have not yet identified the participants. According to Delray Beach police, the incident began just before 10 p.m. at the Community Food Market at 139 NW Fifth Avenue.

Clerks told police that a man armed with a semiautomatic handgun entered the store and tried to rob them. One of the clerks hid behind the counter and the man fired at him. Another clerk took a weapon and shot back at the robber, police said.

The robber left the scene and the clerks called 911. Police said they found the suspected robber face down and unresponsive a few blocks away from the store, clutching a handgun in his right hand.

I just donated to FR on this news. Best 4th of July news I heard today, along with the Patriot Riders (buddy) escorting two warriors home. Picked the troops up at O'Hara Airport for a grand party with their family.

God bless these C store employees. And excellent shooting.

I think it’s a good idea but must be done in a way that does not garner blow-back. For example, giving a clerk in a Dem area a medal from a conservative website along with publicity might cause problems for the hero.
Applauding the sensible action of the clerk who saved lives may cause the police department to try to make an ‘example’ of him in order to prevent the idea of an armed populace from catching on etc. Giving publicity to a clerk who saves the day only to be arrested two weeks later for beating his wife would be blow-back too. Lots of scenarios there. Maybe give the clerk a medal and send it to him/her and let them decide how much attention to call to it? Or establish a letter writing campaign for any clerk who does it and ask that letters not bear FR references - just people wanting to say something positive. I don’t mean to be a wet blanket, I think you have a good idea, I just think a little caution and maybe a trial balloon or 4 to learn as we go.

I always think its a shame that the otherwise law abiding members of these scumbag’s families have to take care of putting them in the ground.

I, therefore, recommended everyone help them out........ Send a cup of dirt.

With some greater certainty, the police were able to say that this is not the same guy to commit the next armed robbery in West Palm Beach.

LOVE IT!

They identified the dirtbag, but they haven't connected him to the other two murders yet.

Palm Beach Post

A Lantana man suspected of being the triggerman in the robbing and murder of a Lake Worth convenience store clerk in November has been identified as the gunman shot and killed Saturday night by the manager of a Delray Beach store.

Police this afternoon identified Tyrone Roy Pinkney, 23 of 111 North H. St., let out of state prison only in September.

...

Detectives said at the time they suspected him in the Nov. 13 slaying of part-time clerk Miguel Gonazalez Huicochea at the Los Cunaos Grocery at 819 N. Dixie Highway in Lake Worth.

Cartridge casings from Tyrone Pinkney's pistol matched casings from the double murder at the convenience store in West Palm Beach earlier that night. It's near the bottom of the article.

Delray clerk sorry he had to kill accused robber who shot at him; 'I feel bad for his family'

Now I feel the least bit sorry that this piece of garbage died, at least before he could give up the name of the other murderer.

“They don’t know if it’s the same guy.”
I got $10 that says it is.

Looks like you're ten bucks richer.
