So GOOD to see you and thanks for posting the you-tube!
HAPPY FOURTH, MY DEAR FRIEND!
Such beauty!
She looks sick without her topmasts. I was hoping for a broadside.
I’d bet my left one that Obama doen’t know ANYTHING about the USS Constitution.
We should be thankful for all those kids that sent in pennies to save her way back when.
Growing up in Boston, this was one of my favorite places to visit.
I love “Old Ironsides”
“Such beauty!”
But she also has personality!
She does look a little sad...BUT...she’s in better shape now than in decades. Hoping she’s under full sail in 2012!
2nd Bn - when I think of the 4th & freedom, honestly Obama never enters my mind.
Most definitely.
“Growing up in Boston, this was one of my favorite places to visit.”
I know! Can remember how she smelled from my childhood, running all around her - most of her is restricted these days, glad to have grown up in the 60s, 70s.
I’ve never been to Boston but toured the Constellation in Baltimore a couple of times.
This might make you feel better:

She was under partial sail passing one of the last WWII liberty ships - the SS John W Brown a few years ago.
(with apologies to Adm. Nelson)
I remember the aroma too!
They used to call sailors from that era “Tars”. Tar was part of the smell, and old wood, and brine, and brass polish and iron. I remember it too.
Did you ever go to Battleship Cove in Fall River?
WW2 Ships there.
RIP Untied States it was a good run.
I was a rigger for this. Tried to make the cast but wasn’t in the union.
