Great points. I see no reason to demonize gays as long as they don't want to force their positions on the rest of us. (Of course, a lot of 'em do.)
Gays are always going on about how we have to learn abuot them, but maybe they're slowly starting to learn that this "marriage" thing is fun for driving some straights crazy, but maybe it's not for everybody.
There was nothing demonizing in my statement. There is/was a vocal and active segment of the homosexual community that is actually trying to elevate that type of relationship above (as in superior to) a heterosexual one. I can't imagine anyone who gets out in the world not being aware of that. My comment was tongue-in-cheek and referring to those in that segment.
“as long as they don’t want to force their positions on the rest of us.”
Allowing them to “marry” allows them to adopt, allows them to get custody in child custody disputes, allows for persecution of adoption agencies that don’t want to place with gay men and women, forces legitimate businesses like match.com to promote homosexual relationships or be shut down, forces disapproving individuals and businesses like wedding photographers to do business with them or get sued (and lose), allows them into the military in various ways, allows them to promote homosexuality publicly and to minors, allows them to prosecute for thought crimes in various venues, and allows them into the classroom to teach that their sexual perversion is as legitimate as the sex and relationships that God ordained.
All this indeed forces their positions on the rest of us.
