A day on the water for a Sarasota County family took a nasty turn on Sunday as a 30 pound, 45 inch long barracuda jumped into a boat and attacked a 14-year-old girl.
Rob and Dina Parker were fishing in the Gulf of Mexico about 4 miles off the coast of Venice with their daughter Koral when the incident happened.
"I turned around and there was blood all over the windshield and she was saying she got bit," Rob Parker said.
Koral said the barracuda flew into the boat and chomped down on her left arm. It then flopped around until her father was able to catch it.
Koral's wounds required 51 stiches at Venice Regional Medical Center.

There was a case several years ago where a Barracuda jumped into the air and killed a guy on a Jetski, on an inland waterway.
They are heavy, solid bone-like on the outside, and unpredictable.

Barracuda are ALWAYS pissed. I'd compare them to Pitt Bulls, but even Pitt Bulls have their docile streaks.

Get those fishes accustomed to fresh water, and introduce them into the Rio Grande and Tijuana rivers.
