"Many people later blamed Longstreet for the Confederates' eventual defeat." That must be why they didn't put up a monument to him until just a few years ago and the monument itself is an embarassment. It looks like he's riding a dog.
No, it wasn't Longstreet's "fault".

Colonel Patrick Henry O'Rorke (140th New York Infantry) was killed at Little Round Top on July 2nd.
His grave is a few miles from my home and I will pay my respects today.
