Glad you all got to watch the fireworks from afar and that there were no fires (illegals setting off illegal fireworks! Kind of ironic?) Know what you mean about the dogs. I too have had some that couldn’t stop shaking on July 4th and some were never bothered by the noise. Go figure! Glad the radios helped at least. I took one of my dogs to a St.Patrick’s Day parade one year. Dressed her in a green sweater and hat! LOL! She looked real cute and she was doing fine till the sound of guns rang. Shake, shake,shake-shake your booties!!!! She did survive :)

A few years ago, our chow ran away on the 4th. We had left her alone while we went to celebrate my Mom’s birthday. She jumped the fence. We looked and looked that night. Looked again the next day ..... no Saja. She came home two days later. She was the worse that I’ve seen.

When Dove Hunting season would start, we would bring her in the house. If we left, if she was inside, she would tear things up trying to get out. If she were outside, she would try to remove the door to get inside. She tore the door frame from around the door into the garage. Great dog but she was scared to death of guns. Just the sight of a gun would start her shaking.

I wonder why some are afraid of the guns and others are not.
