Oh, Nan, thank you for sharing such a touching story. It is true - our ‘cyber-friends’ somehow touch our heart, and as Mattie Stepanek said, ‘tug at my heart-strings’.
We have a beautiful opportunity, here on the internet, to touch the souls of so many - some who post back, but many, who just lurk, and smile at the blessings they receive.
I had a ‘cyber-friend’ for many years - and we agreed on almost everything. I felt like she was my soul-sister (if there is such a thing).
She told me a secret one day (that no one would ever suspect; she was going to die, if she didn’t have by-pass surgery)- and I realized that none of us, truly know another. That is why I am so careful not to post anything that may hurt another, in any way.
That friend told me that “I hate myself, and what I have become”. Her pain touched me deeply, because I loved her no matter what she looked like or what problems she may have. And I immediately told her, “You can’t hate what Jesus loves. God didn’t make no JUNK”! She and I still communicate, and share a very tender love for each other.
It is true - we all have things we hate about ourselves - but we are (or can be) CYBER-HUGGED, by complete strangers who really love us, and care for us as the beautiful souls that we were made to be.
HUGS, Nan! I have missed you!
