Just to let you all know that TiaPammie is now back at my house, after having cataract surgery today.

It was a scarey start - as she had a “spell” this morning, and turned very gray, and (I think) almost passed out. It lasted over fifteen minutes, and I was glad I had enough strength to be able to get her to the couch to lay down for awhile. (I was worried that I would have to call 9-1-1.) But, after an hours sleep, she was feeling much better, and ready to go for surgery. She didn’t want to tell the doc, for fear they would put it off.

Well - it’s over now! (Just eye-drops for the next month, every four hours.)

It is a miracle what doctors can now do with eye surgery, today! Sending up prayers of gratitude.

Praying that Meg and Pam will soon be feeling great and be back posting wonderful graphics.

I’ve been spending the day doing long neglected updates and trying to finish my bookwork. Bookwork had to wait until after a nap. :)

thanks for ping Amy.. and Yorkie...what a sweetie you are to be recovery nurse for Pam... Pam, heal well dear. Most people I know have very good result & almost instant use/improvement of their eyes. Keep us posted

Hi Amy, Loved the graphic today and NNB’s poetry. Its been a busy, busy day...aren’t they all these days? Had to get a haircut and my kids came swimming. I didn’t get to play with Braelyn much as I was about to leave. Saw her little smile as they were leaving (right after I got back.) Darn it!

It was so hot again today. Its 82 on my patio now and you can’t cut the humidity. I hear it may drop in temperatures (very little) in the next couple of days.

Show Up Before You Speak Up

There was a time when a certain West Coast city may have been one of the most hostile places to the gospel in America. Posters in coffee shops advertised witchcraft meetings where you could learn to cast a spell on your enemies.

It was such a challenging environment for churches that they struggled to get building permits from the city council. And there was a lot of “woe is me” talk among church leaders. Until a group of pastors began to meet to pray regularly and then decided to take the love of Jesus into their city. They started a ministry to the homeless, to those suffering with AIDS, to teens at risk. Faithfully and intentionally they brought the love of Jesus to the needs of hurting people. Before long, the city agencies started calling on them for help. Better yet, the churches started growing as people responded to the gospel in action.

Which proves the point: Sometimes you’ve got to “show up” before you speak up. No one really wants to hear what we have to say about the love of Jesus until they’ve seen it in our lives (Matt. 5:16). Then even the most ardent opponents to the gospel may just be glad you’re in their town, their office, or their neighborhood. And then you just might be able to tell them about Jesus.

When you share the gospel, make sure you live the gospel.

dogs and cats are two of God’s gift for faithful companions. My household has both, a dog and 2 cats. They enjoy/tolerate each other quite well too. It add to our health to care about them. They more than return the favor/love.
