Fix Your Eyes July 25, 2010
Over and over again, my drivers education instructor said these two words: Drive ahead. This was his way of telling me to focus on the horizon, not just on my immediate surroundings. Drivers who continually look to the right or to the left may well go into the ditch.
Satan is good at causing roadside distractions that tempt us to look at him rather than at Jesus. If he can get our attention, he may be able to get us off track and delay our spiritual progress. He even tried this with Jesus Himself!
After Jesus was baptized, Satan tried to deter Him by suggesting better ways to accomplish His work. Satan told Jesus that He could prove He was the Son of God by throwing Himself from the temple (Luke 4:9-11). But Jesus knew that proving He was Gods Son would come by submitting Himself to the cross, not by flinging Himself from a high building. He responded, You shall not tempt the Lord your God (v.12). Jesus had His eyes on our redemption, and He knew He couldnt accomplish it by taking a detour around the cross.
The way to stay out of spiritual ditches is to fix our eyes on Jesus (Heb. 12:2) and refuse to even glance at Satans distractions.

Temptations that we face,
Is to be focused on the Lord,

Satan ought not be in our line of vision, but behind us. Leonard Sweet

Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.

Have a Blessed Lord's Day, Dolly!
Thank you for the update, Dolly!
Glad to hear your computer problems are no longer frustrating you!
But, sorry to hear that your wrists are still giving you trouble, though.
I envy you, getting to see all those wonderful movies!
(What is your favorite???)

It is afternoon now! wow, sometimes time flies & sometimes seems to drag. Between my back & headaches this year has not been stellar. My chronic back pain for 30 years is actually better the past 4 years that I have been using the inversion table ang going to the chiropractor & massage therapist regularly. The stretching with Yoga helps also
Re: movie question.. man, that is hard as there are so many good ones out there all being different in genre. I truly hate to recommend any movie to people unless I go to movies with them regularly & know their taste, as many people are very narrow in the field of movies that they will feel are worthwhile time wise.
Recent ones I like more than others are Salt, Winter’s Bone(independent movie, not on many screens nationally - no special effect, no car chase scenes, no obscene sex/violence), Inception, Toy Story 3, Despicable Me, Knight and Day.
As I said, I have seen everything currently at theaters..
Looks like we are going to be getting more rain here. I will try to get pups out after the next round of rain... lunch first. I make up a big crock pot of soop or chili each week... eat on it during the week.

I did not see The Kids are All Right. Not particularly drawn to it based on review or story line.
