Former President Bill Clinton said Sunday that Barack Obama is doing a better job than hes given credit for.
Clinton, speaking in Cape Town, South Africa as part of the Fortune/Time/CNN Global Forum, said that public perception of the president has lagged behind what he has done to benefit the country.
I think he's done a better job than he's given credit for, Clinton said. I feel very strongly about this.
The former president, who, like Obama, saw his polling numbers dip dramatically during his second year in office, said that Obama is not fully responsible for how he is perceived, adding that a dip in approval is not avoidable in an economic downturn.

Slick wants the wife to VP and then his dixie mafia will see that the one gets his due.
Clinton has Barry just where he wants him.
Barry WILL NEVER run in 2012. The nomination is Hillary’s which is of course a two for one, just a Billy Boy said back in 1992.
Barry asked Bill for a favor on the Sestak affair. And Bill has kept his mouth shut, just as he was expected to.
But just as the Clinton crime family used the FBI files to intimidate friends and foe alike so it is with Barry.
Barry is AN IDIOT of the highest order.
He will not be impeached by tea party types on the right, he will be brought down by the black mailing Clinton crime family.
Bill and Hillary have the goods to impeach Barry and his crowd.
The politics of personal destruction as practiced by the Clintons will mean that voters will not get the opportunity to show Barry the door.
But voters will have the opportunity to make certain that the Hildebeest never plants her pant suited thunder thighs behind the desk in the Oral Office.
