Robert Byrd has died according to a Fox News report at 5:30 AM Monday.
Is this 6 or 7 unelected democrap senators now?
We should pray for the dead, no matter how evil.
But it is not healthy for the country to show them respect.

Love but not respect. Interesting! I like it. I think.
The Order today pays respect to Grand Klugle, brother Robert 'Sheets' Byrd in his final night ride into the sky.
Sheets was born a small, pinched headed, beady eyed penny snatcher who then went on to Congress. Well known for his love of everything Pork and constant verbal flatulence, he was a natural fit and was well loved in the Senate. Said one GOP Senator, "We all do what we can to ruin America, but Bobby did it in his own special way."
For now the echo of obscure and pointless drivel will be slightly but noticeably absent from the Senate. The Klan thanks Bobby for his long support of the New Plantation and expresses our condolences to his family. In one month the usual Klan rally will be in honor of GK Byrd. There will be the usual anti-black, Catholic, Jew, Republican toasts. All Democrats are invited, except Jews, Blacks and Catholics.
Ku Klux Klan funeral, 1924.
The man literally wrote the book, make that a 4 volume set of books on the history of the Senate. He had an intimate knowledge of the Senate rules, and yes after that length of service he he did have a hand in writing them, but that does not take away from his knowledge.
he was also the staunchest supporter of the 1st amendment, and was the only Senator to admonish Bill Clinton about attempting to influence the Jury (Senate) during his impeachment.
I think they just go in circles already! lol
The Donks will be pulling quotes from this thread for years.
I have nothing good to say about Robert Byrd. From his days as a leader of the Ku Klux Klan to his years leading the charge for pork in the Senate, he has brought nothing but harm to this country.
But I will couch my criticism in civilized terms, because the man just died. I will not indulge in screeching tirades, and pound my chest louder than my fellow, because that sort of thing is self-destructive.
I noticed Byrd went out on a full moon too.......
The man spent his whole life building his reputation. If that is a negative one it doesn't deserve being whitewashed just because he died.
Giving directions in West Virginia, in a few years:
You go down the Robert Byrd Expressway to the Robert Byrd offramp, onto the Robert Byrd Parkway, across the Byrd River on the Robert Byrd Memorial Bridge. Take the first exit past the Byrd Bridge onto Southbound Robert Byrd Avenue. Follow that five blocks, past Byrd, Byrd, Byrd, Byrd and Byrd, and take the sixth Right onto Robert Byrd Boulevard. My house is the fourth Byrd on the left...
People have been losing money on that for decades...
Agreed. I just don't think we should be writing spittle-flecked pull-quotes for our enemies. So I will be critical of Robert Byrd, but keep thee screeching to a minimum.
It’s part of the lyrics to “How Do I Keep From Singing”.

All the while he was flipping the “byrd” to the rest of the country for 50 years!
How true LOL.
Good turn out. Byrd’s dad?
The liberal press has had his grandiose obituary recorded for decades. They just have to convert it from 8 mm to a digital format.
Yeah. Thesbians will be listening to him for ages. He’s right up there. We’ve lost the Shakespeare of our times!
( snort )
He was a intellectually shallow, blow machine who will be soon forgotten and never read again.
I'm not sure about that. From the web site of the West Virginia Legislature web site:
§3-10-3. Vacancies in offices of state officials, United States senators and judges. Any vacancy occurring in the office of secretary of state, auditor, treasurer, attorney general, commissioner of agriculture, United States senator, judge of the supreme court of appeals or in any office created or made elective to be filled by the voters of the entire state, judge of a circuit court or judge of a family court is filled by the governor of the state by appointment. If the unexpired term of a judge of the supreme court of appeals, a judge of the circuit court or judge of a family court is for less than two years or if the unexpired term of any other office named in this section is for a period of less than two years and six months, the appointment to fill the vacancy is for the unexpired term. If the unexpired term of any office is for a longer period than above specified, the appointment is until a successor to the office has timely filed a certificate of candidacy, has been nominated at the primary election next following such timely filing and has thereafter been elected and qualified to fill the unexpired term. Proclamation of any election to fill an unexpired term is made by the governor of the state and, in the case of an office to be filled by the voters of the entire state, must be published prior to the election as a Class II-0 legal advertisement in compliance with the provisions of article three, chapter fifty-nine of this code and the publication area for the publication is each county of the state. If the election is to fill a vacancy in the office of judge of a circuit court or judge of a family court, the proclamation must be published prior to the election as a Class II-0 legal advertisement in compliance with the provisions of article three, chapter fifty-nine of this code and the publication area for such publication is each county in the judicial or family court circuit."
July 3rd would be 2 yrs, 6 months until Byrd's term expired. His death having occured before that date seems to mandate a new election in November.
Anyone with special knowledge of WV election law care to clear this up?
