This is extremely sad to learn about. We were big Jennifer Capriati fans. We’ll be praying for her ...

This is the second female tennis star to attempt this. What is going on?!

Prayers offered up.

Yes, it is sad. For lurkers who may not remember, she was a youngest-ever major contender, winning an olympic gold medal the following year; She had gotten into trouble when still a teenager, and had seemed to really put her life together, beginning her big “comeback” career move at only 19, rising to number one in the world.

I’m saddened by the news as well. I thought she was past the dark times in her life. I feel a little more empathy and connection towards her since she is slightly younger than myself. I remember her quick rise to fame and thought wow this is cool what if something cool like this happened to me (being a stupid teenager)? I realized it would probably be a bad thing. Shortly thereafter she dropped out of the tennis world and started reappearing in the news again in a not so good way. I was so happy when she got her life back together had a comeback and was successful. I guess she still hasn’t conquered her demons yet.

Sad, but not surprising. She was already having serious drug and alcohol problems in her teens, during her first absence from the circuit after turning pro.

I wish her nothing but the best outcome.....one always hopes that the young eventually find their way in life...
