Like I said apprehending a shoplifter they have red handed is another matter all together. I have worked as a clerk before and put a night stick into the back window of a fleeing Lincoln over a can of beer. It was a case when he started out the door. He lost it all but one can and dove into the passenger side of the car as the driver was pulling off LOL.
When I go in a store in the day time I want to get in there and buy what I want and I want out. A lot of people you see running for doors in places like Walmart, Lowes, Home Depot, etc are simply ones who can not tolerate the places except long enough to get what they need. They are very sensitive to some of the environmental noises there. Some know they are. Many more don't but become agitated and simply want to leave the store. I fall into that category.
