Thanks. Actually, I watch so little soccer, I never heard of a silver goal, but it was plain the extra periods could be handled either way. Thirty minutes is lot of extra time.

I see what you’re saying and yes it would seem to make this a bit more fair if they called player for wasting time regardless of when in the period.
However, delaying the game at the end, giving your team the chance to regroup or catch their breath would be more problematic at the end so maybe that’s why they are more tolerant at the beginning and stricter at the end.
Who knows, soccer confuses me and I don’t watch it enough to understand all the nuances of the game.
Cherundulo and Bocanegra are weak against these international teams. We’ve got to have a much better defense next WC.
Not Howard’s fault on that goal. That was all Bocanegra’s fault. He totally gave up after Ghana won the ball. Had he stayed with him, he could’ve cut off the angle.
Ghana are just a bit more clinical in front of goal. The US need to take their next chance - and they will get it.
Physical teams have always bullied the defense as far back as I can remember.

Ghana went into a bit of a “four corners” there... The US has to make something happen.
That was bad acting on Ghana’s part.
Ghana guy fell down long before the ball even got there, and no US player was in touching distance of him.
Ghana guy then looked up and wondered why the ref didn’t call a foul.
Pick a team in the MLS. You don’t need to go or even watch on the TV, but if you do you will be surprised that you may want to after a while.
Like any sport you need a team.
Bully ‘em, kick ‘em, juke ‘em, dive against them, but don’t beat them. The defense has been beaten early in each of our games. Here’s hoping we can advance in spite of this!
Don’t watch a lot of soccer, but I know David Beckham is one of the more skilled on free kicks and penalty kicks. Is he able to occasionally score from the longer free kick position the US just had?
