Plan Z (when we finally reach that stage)...is to nuke the area. I read that’s a guaranteed fix but the environmentalists are firmly against it....and I think Obama doesn’t want the legacy as the second Democrat in the history of America to authorize use of nuclear weapons. If it’s still flowing in November....I’ll bet on this option being used.
So your idea is to create more cracks in the rock and give the oil more avenues to escape?

I believe he is trying to appease the environmentalists and use this as a means to permanently stop drilling of oil and lead us further to being an impoverished third world country via energy and be dependent on our enemies.
Lemme take a wild guess. You live in either Wisconsin or Michigan.
The folks over at The Oil Drum, who are the closest to experts I’ve seen on the internet, have said repeatedly in the comments that the geology isn’t right. A nuclear bomb is used some distance away from the well to push the entire rock structure over, closing the well. From what they’ve said, the rock structure around the Deepwater Horizon is of a type where the bomb would more likely make many fissures that would create new leaks.
From what I’ve gathered most wells have no more than 7% methane in them and this particular well has 40%.
I can’t see where setting off a nuke to seal the well wouldn’t cause an even larger explosion and then cause massive cavitation creating a huge tsunami.
Yep create a Gulf full of nuclear radiation in place of the oil and possibly create multiple cracks in the sea bed. Chenobyl we don’t need in the Gulf.
somehow one gets the distinct impression the oil well problem is a scenario that is over for the potus since it’s not in the news like it used to be and gee whiz he just made a trip or two down there did they fix it yet? no? ok on to the next thing/sar
Oh geeze, the seafloor is totally different then a land based oil well blowout....Nuke is the worst option imaginable due to the methane in the water and below the seabed. Do you want to collapse the continental shelf which would displace seawater causing huge Tsunamis that would wipe out states on the coast? Stop with the nuke idea!
