You have no idea what you are talking about.
But please continue as your drivel has definate comedic value.
Well, he WAS an ancestor and everything.
Now, trying to paint me as a lover of socialism in its present inroads in the federal government won't wash. “My kind” thinks you should put up or admit you are, once again, either lying or building strawmen.
So, point to a post, either on this thread or the last one you ran away from, where I, how is it you put it? “..worship at the alter of the state uber alles.”
I'll give you two points if you can do it.
What would you like to cover? How America is great? The Founding Fathers? 200 years of American exceptionalism? How people who want to tear the nation apart need to be opposed?
How the phrase “enemies foreign and domestic” could be applied to both Faisal Shahzad “”I'm going to plead guilty 100 times over...we will be attacking the United States and I plead guilty to that.” equally with someone who wants to tear Texas away from the Union? Both hate America?
If I don't know what I am talking about, how come you can't handle what I post? Hmm? Explain it to me. The ball, as you put it, is back in your court.
Its a business decision. When the cost of complying with onerous Federal Regulation exceeds what Texas receives from the Feds..Texas will secede. won’t happen as long as there are US military bases in Texas tho.
I'm a Good Ole Rebel
by Major James Innes Randolph, CSA
First published in 1914, this song expresses the feelings of the old CSA Veterans.
Oh, I'm a good old Rebel,
Now that's just what I am;
For this "fair land of Freedom"
I do not care a damn.
I'm glad I fit against it-
I only wish we'd won.
And I don't want no pardon
For anything I've done.
I hates the Constitution,
This great Republic too;
I hates the Freedmen's Buro,
In uniforms of blue.
I hates the nasty eagle,
With all his brag and fuss;
But the lyin', thievin' Yankees
I hates' em wuss and wuss.
I hates the Yankee nation
and everything they do,
I hates the Declaration
of Independence, too;
I hates the glorious Union
tis drippin' with our blood
I hates their striped banner,
I fit it all I could.
I followed Ol' Marsh Roberts
for four years, nearabout,
got wounded in three places
and starved at P'int Lookout:
I cotched the rheumatism
a'campin' in the snow;
but I killed a chance o' Yankees,
I'd like to kill some mo'.
We got three hundred thousand
Befo' they conquered us.
They died of Southern fever
And Southern steel and shot;
And I wish it was three million
Instead of what we got.
I can't take up my musket
And fight' em now no mo',
But I ain't a-goin'to love' em,
Now that is sartin sho';
And I don't want no pardon
For what I was and am;
And I won't be reconstructed,
And I do not give a damn.
First of all, according to Jefferson any state has the right to leave the union so that’s not an act of war.
And as far as the government of the U.S. attacking Texas that would never happen if Texas seceeded and joined Mexico. Then the feds would send money.
“I hates the Constitution, This great Republic too;” says the song.
So you hate the song? Or the Republic? Or is this one more example of believing one thing and not having the courage and honesty to admit it?
You post the song. Do you believe the sentiment? You hate America? Which will it be? The mask or the hatred behind the mask?
Obama is a socialist who hides behind the mask and tries to tear down the country. He hates America too. We know it. He won't admit it. Are you Obama’s twin? Do you want secession or not? Do you hate America or not?
Feds withhold funds to the states? .... withhold fed income tax deductions and reroute them to the states capitol.....governors recall and/or reconstitute a true state militia.
Not a secession nor a civil war, but a forced return to the original intent.
Just some thoughts from an old vet who truely believes in the Constitution and the oath he took.
Nam Vet
The rabid secessionists are impervious to logic. They refuse to recognize that the issues today are not regional, they are ideological. No state in the country has anything remotely like the the unanimity of the Deep South states in 1860.
To successfully secede, any state would not only have to fight federal attempts to enforce the laws, but would have to fight an internal civil war against a very large minority within its own borders.
For instance, VA has Northern Virginia, a very large enclave of highly liberal people. Georgia has Atlanta, against with many liberals, and which is the dominant economic center of the state. Florida can’t really even be considered a southern state in any sociological sense.
Today is not 1860 come again.
The differences between the assertions that central_va makes about “love of country” and the anti-American diatribes can’t be more stark. He constantly wets his pants in anticipation of tearing our country apart...but of course does nothing but talk.
I think the true answer is there for all to see.
You’ll notice they fade pretty quickly when owned. But they pop up at a later date as full of bile as ever.
I understand and appreciate a lot of the anger felt by those on the right about the egregiousness abuses that the left is heaping upon our country right now. I even understand a little of the secessionist talk - within context and within reason. I just hate to see reasonable discussion hijacked by scum with agendas as malevolent as Øbozo’s.
We can take our country back but not by stupid talk from idiots like cantral-va
Yes, the best offense is the lessons of history. The Founding Father established not just a nation, but a set of principles and ideals that will withstand the current assault.
It is why the Left has infiltrated and taken over education and the press. They are trying (hopelessly) to stamp out the idea of America. They have to kill that first and there is no chance of that happening. Either from the Left or, I won’t say right... the less than bright.
Take care,
Irish Catholic.
I also understand the anger. I just find it bizarre that some seem to think a smallish majority in a state, if that, can successfully secede from the Union.
Even assuming the federal government and neighboring states ignored the secession, how will they handle massive internal opposition without resorting to the very civil rights violations they claim justify their secession?
I'm not sure how one can claim to love America and hate its founding documents. What's left to love of America if you hate the Constitution and the D of I?
“I’m not sure how one can claim to love America and hate its founding documents. What’s left to love of America if you hate the Constitution and the D of I?”
What’s left is the lie that you love America.
But hey, once again those that hate this nation have run away. Go over to Navy Vet’s thread on what you are doing on the 4th. You will feel better about things. I already admitted I am watching my DVD of 1776. What have you got scheduled?
Solution to the infrastructure repayment - tell the feds they don’t want it, so come take it back. Sit back and watch the fun when the Yankees try to foreclose on a road, or a building.
As for the backing of a Texas currency, what backs up US currency? The biggest problem I see with secession - unless other states join Texas - is how do you get rid of the enemy within (Austin, Houston, Dallas, etc. liberals)?
