I figure the $20 billion is actually going to end up making it impossible for those harmed to sue BP and recover the real losses. Once I heard that BP had been having problems with that well prior to the actual accident that caused the leak and that BP had been a big backer of Obama, I started looking for the payback part of the equation which led me to conclude that BP will be able to slide out of actual obligations by claiming that the deal with the Prez settles the matter and leaves them in the position to not be sued.

Now, that may not make sense if the law is being obeyed, but the democrat party quit worrying about messy details like that a long, long, time ago.

The $20 billion was a gift to King Obama strongarm push. It does not stop both legal and civil court action by the King. BP will be sued to the hilt after the money runs out and that will be soon. Our King will make sure that any union claims will be overpaid. He needs the votes.
