Is anyone else having a problem getting on Free Republic or know why Free Republic will not load on my PC. I can only get to the website on my MAC. Everything other website working fine on my PC. Anyone who is experiencing difficulty is probably not able to get on to respond so this may be futile. But if anyone has an idea let know.
No problem here but then I am on a mac. Hurry someone post a bunch of PC sux posts. LOL
Obama!
I have Foxfire and last night and this morning FR was having trouble loading threads, but it seems to be better as of now.
You’ve probably been hanging around the folks at democraticunderground and got cooties....when you get DU cooties Jim won’t let you on for at least a week.
Works just fine on my Commodore 64.
same here
no FR at all on Sunday
today very very slow to load
Today FR very slow to load on my PC.
Start->Run...
type: cmd and press Enter.
You got the black little box, right?
type: ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter.
You should receive a response like:
Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache.
You should be good.
I had that problem ALL DAY yesterday until late in the evening. NO idea what the problem was. Anyone else have any idea?
Well, I don’t know what the problem was, but I had been unable to access FR on my work PC for several hours. I was able to pull it up on my cell phone, however.
On the work computer, I took the suggestion of some on my thread and cleared my cache with no result. Then I shut it down and restarted, and lo and behold . . .
What browser are you using on your 64?
Somethings I've found that help, even if you use other than Infernal Exploder:
Go to Control Panel | Internet Options
- Under General hit the check-box for Delete Browser History on exit
- Click on Settings and under History and set Days to Keep at something less than their default - I use none, zip, zero.
- Go to Advanced tab, and scan down for Security and click the box for Empty Temp Internet Filed Folder when browser is closed to enable.
I use Firefox for most and have it set so that it flushes everything in addition to those above when I close the browser. Be aware, if you have more than one window open, everything stays until it is fully closed.
Happy FReeping!
