My Dad. He thought Harry Truman and Dwight Eisenhower Good men and Decent Presidents. Hated Nixon Hated Kennedy Loved Ronnie Reagan and was suspicious of both Bush's and thinks Obama and Carter and Billy Bob Clinton were the trifecta in worst Presidents in his lifetime.
My Grandfather was the very essence of a Conservative Democrat. He Loved Reagan Thought Carter was a total ditz and thought LBJ and FDR should have been run out of the country. And if you ever mentioned Kennedy around him you were going to get your ears burned for hours on all the criminal behavior his family was guilty of.
Grandpa was a Union Man but he never believed in a right to a job instead he believed in a fair wage for an honest day's work (tool and die craftsman most of his life) he was the union steward in his section of the plant and he allowed no shenanigans and was quick to bring the hammer down on someone who tried to use the contract to not do his job and take a free ride. On the other hand if the company tried to cheat a man out of pay it was a sorry soul who had to deal with him.
