One of my best friends is Larry Cosgrove who used to be an on camera met at WWOR in New York City. He worked in Philadelphia in the 1990s. He worked at WSYX channel 6 in Columbus Ohio in the late 80s and early 90s.
We met in 2004 when I was working at a local radio station and he called in the forecasts every day. That was the best part of that job. The guy is a specialist when it comes to convective thunderstorm forecasting. He does better than the SPC.

Sounds like you've got some solid connections there, and radio broadcasting, be it weather, news or just on-the-air announcing is a good foundation (speaking as a former news guy myself).
My only real claim to fame (if you can call it that) is when I got to sit on Willard Scott's knee as a kid when he was hosting the original 'Bozo Show' on WRC-TV, again in Washington DC in the 50's, he was a nice guy then and a nice guy now, the best part of it was when I wrote to him a number of years ago (2001, 2002?) and told him how we had met, and he wrote me back to say that he remembered the occasion, wished me well, and told me I farted in his lap, LOL
