Even though there is a lot of logging helicopter logging in this part of north coast timber country I am not familiar with specifics other than they do have accidents for equipment failure. They are also used in fighting fires in roadless areas here and one crashed last year killing someone. I question whether the body would be in any condition for a full autopsy with the heat of that area?

From what I've heard and the pictures I seen of the "Crane Operator's Cabin", the only thing between him and the jungle in the crash, was Plexiglas.
And from the observations from the ground it appears it was going out to get another load, when it started the spin.
I'm pretty sure it was equipment failure.

That is a sign of root rot, since the plants show no signs
of disease on the leaves. The cause is the mulch. It
appears you have poor drainage compounded by the mulch
keeping the water in the upper layer of soil from drying.

Clear away the mulch about 8” from the base of the plants.
The roots need to breathe. Standing water causes mold and
bacteria that is harmful to your plants.

Thanks!

I had someone else recommend that I clear the mulch back.

I’ll do that!

Once you clear back the mulch cultivate around the plants once a week with a 4 prong garden cultivator at least
2-3 inches deep. Keep the soil around the base of your plants loose.
Plants need to breathe. Their roots need nitrogen and oxygen to break down nutrients in the soil to feed the plant.
It's every bit as important as water!

Tomato's and corn don't do well in a suffocated garden.
Give it a try, see what happens.

My zucchini plants look real healthy but the zukes get about three inches long and stop growing. Later on they fall off.

Thats one of the few things I have always grown with no problem

Sounds like they may not be getting pollinated properly!

I thought they were pollinated if the veggie started growing.
They get to the size of a pickle and stop. One turned black on the end.

The fruit will develop up to a point with out proper pollination and then drop off or just wither away! You might try hand pollination with a q-tip or small artists brush.

You need to come on over to This Weeks Thread. A new thread is posted every Friday morning. Not many FReepers monitor the older threads - they basically focus on the current thread and you will get more and possibly better responses on the current thread.
