The eldest daughter of Warren Beatty and Annette Bening is living as a young man after changing her name.
Kathlyn Beatty, 18, is now known as Stephen Ira and is said to be planning a sex-change operation.
According to reports in the U.S., Hollywood veteran Beatty, 73, is 'crushed' by his child's determination to change her gender.
Meanwhile Miss Bening, 52, who starred in American Beauty, is trying to support her daughter as best she can, despite finding the situation heartbreaking.
The National Enquirer reported that the teenager was currently attending college dressed as a man.
'Warren Beatty is beside himself over the situation with his daughter Kathlyn,' a source told the Enquirer.

And the wages of tolerant liberalism come home.
Hollywood is weird. I've known people who worked in the business, and their stories are like messages from another planet. I wouldn't live there or get involved in the business for any amount of money. (If I ever sell one of my books to Hollywood I'll take the advice of, I think, Hemingway or Faulkner, and drive my car to the border--they'll toss a saddlebag of money to me, and I'll drive away.)
Oy, they’ll have to form (or join) a support group with Cher.
For all that I have to say 18 is a tad young for this type of thing.
And where did “Ira” come from?
Hey, I’ve know some great Iras, but give me a break. If I’m going to be a man you KNOW my name is going to be Lance!
But a daughter wanting to be a man?...How will they ever be able to face their Hollywood friends again?
>>> And the wages of tolerant liberalism come home.
I had a different take on that but the comment was removed, I presume because it linked photos the Daily Mail used to illustrate how the girl/boy looks.
Repeating, this shows the universe has a sense of humor. Warren spent his life using women, showing how little they mattered. I think it’s less “liberalism” then it is cosmic payback that she now thinks being a woman isn’t a good thing.
Her Aunt too. Very pretty girl and a sad story.
When our kids were very young we owned a lodge in Alaska. This lifestyle exposes them to all sorts people including hollywood types. Agents, producers and actors. The kids were quite adorable and entertaining as kids in those situations learn to be.
We had many offers for child modeling, commercials etc... We had one answer because we knew these people and the twisted lives their children witnessed and that was HELL NO!
An Addadictomy procedure...
Good answer. No good can come of having one’s kids in that industry. I’ve seen it.
>>This is the first I’ve seen of this girl, and you can really see her mother in her face.
She looks like she’s doing a Bud Cort (Harold in Harold and Maude) imitation in that suit...headed off to some stranger’s funeral probably.
That said, I thought Warren Beatty took off this past decade to enjoy his children. What in the world happened?
Harold and Maude...one of those movies I’ve been told a thousand times is so awesome, and I had to shut it off after about 20 minutes...
They have 4 children??? That said....after listening to someone talk about gender issues that cause problems like this last week (Dennis Prager???? maybe).....at least the child waited until age 18. It is very sad, but you have to wonder sometimes if the hormones get messed up for some, kinda like others who end up missing a hand or have cerebral palsey.....something goes awry. I can’t believe people do this just for the FUN of it!
I'm not one to judge on appearence but look at what this young girl has done to herself. No wonder Beatty is upset - this is what his daughter wants to do to her body.
This is a tragedy, and I don't care what the Psychiatric associations say - it's an illness.
Must’ve been born a hermaphrodite.
Wow, they had a kid?
