Just a heads up to all of those Freepers in the Upper Midwest. It could get a little rough later today.

Stay safe, everyone!

Two back-to-back spring storms in 1998 took out our windows, roof, boat and two of our cars when we lived in Prior Lake. We had everything insured with St. Paul Fire and Marine (now part of Travelers.) We paid one $500 deductable on a claim that exceeded $120,000.

Well, Mike Lynch on CCO acted like there wasn’t going to be much happening . . . Guess he doesn’t want to be a downer or anything. (Plus, he’s probably more concerned with doing his promos than he is with forecasting weather.)

These two paragraphs seem to contradict each other. Maybe they need a new writer at the NWS?

A WIDESPREAD SEVERE WEATHER EVENT IS EXPECTED TO UNFOLD ACROSS THE AREA THIS AFTERNOON INTO TONIGHT. THE MAIN THREAT FROM THIS ACTIVITY IS EXPECTED TO BE STRONG DAMAGING STRAIGHT LINE WINDS ALONG WITH LARGE HAIL. A THREAT FOR ISOLATED TORNADOES WILL EXIST AS WELL...ESPECIALLY ACROSS WEST CENTRAL MINNESOTA THIS AFTERNOON.

SCATTERED THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY IS ALSO EXPECTED TO MOVE INTO SOUTH CENTRAL MINNESOTA THIS MORNING...AND SPREAD EAST INTO EAST CENTRAL MINNESOTA BY THIS AFTERNOON. THIS ACTIVITY IS EXPECTED TO REMAIN BELOW SEVERE LEVELS...THOUGH SMALL HAIL WILL BE POSSIBLE WITH ANY STRONG STORMS THAT DEVELOP.
