As if I ever want to hear one of those noisemakers again. I’ve been skipping watching the World Cup to avoid the noise...and yes, I know I can mute the TV...but I reject that I have to...screw the advertisers as far as I’m concerned. If they want my ear, they’ll have to protect my ears.

I like them to the extent that when I see someone holding one, I know instantly, that person is someone to avoid.
It's the equivalent of having a t-shirt that says "I AM AN OBNOXIOUS MORON"

I lived in South Africa in 88 and 89 and never heard one of the damn things until the World Cup. Someone needs a rear end kicking.

When Barack Obama starts speaking, I’ve got a fever, and the only prescription is...more vuvuzela!

While the noise is annoying, it has become I think the pre-eminent symbol of this world cup, as such I wanted to order one for laughs (not to blow it just to have around), have written to a store in SA asking if they would ship one of the sockzelas here to Canada. The sockzela is the vuvuzela with a sock over it printed in the flag of your choice, no reply so far I am saddened :(
If anyone else wants one... /me runs and hides :)

I had one of those horns in the early 60s when I was just a sprout growing up in N.E. Ohio. Never quite got the hang of playing it.
