I passed the 13 wpm after everyone decided that I needed a waiver because of my hearing loss.

I have lost hearing (don't tell my 3rd ex that I admitted that). I can still copy code with a good DSP filter and high volume.

I didn't take the waiver. I did it the right way.

I also have a high freq hearing loss. Too many loud noises in my past. But I have no trouble copying morse on my S-Line (32S3 75S3 pair) with the mechanical filter. Fine CW rig.

Yes, it has tubes, but is like a fine Swiss Watch. I even built a homebrew outboard synthesizer to give it general coverage. That was a project, discrete component PLL with 10-1 tuning range on diode.
