Right handed Red Sox 3rd baseman Adrian Beltre hit one out of Fenway Park Friday afternoon, striking Nutmeg squarely on the forearm. X-rays revealed a fractured radius. Nutmeg is in good spirits today.
Beltre, with a .335 average and 44 RBI in 2010, was unavailable for comment.

Would it be fair to say that your comments here will be half-fast for the foreseeable future??? :P
Get better!
Oh, Adrian -— we miss you sooo much. Seattle really sucks this year.
similar thing almost happened to me...I was with my son who was 8 at the time and is a huge sports nut. A foul ball caught by Dad would have been incredible for him to have. I pulled my hands away at the very last second because I was leaving for a golf vacation the next day and said to myself..”hmmmm, golf, beer, good times or a $4.00 baseball?”... The golf vacation won out.
That is an ugly shade of yellow on that door. ;)
Get well soon...
Oh boy .. that player’s name will be
forever burned in your brain. Get
well soon! I broke my radius .. not
once, but twice (enlarged the existing
fracture) from plain stupid falls two
summers ago. Blessedly, I healed quickly
and with no remaining issues. I think the
Vit D3 (2-5K dose/day) I take helped.
Prayers for speedy healing !
Did she get the ball?
Autographed? 8<)
Most boring game in the world. Slow with zero avenues for creativity and very few displays of athleticism. On TV its especially dreadful. At least in person you’ve got enough beer and hotdogs to get you through a game that should have been put out of its misery in the 1880s.
I beg to differ. A better game on this planet does not exist.
You're on the wrong thread. Use search for keyword "shuffle board."

That's why they make chocolate and vanilla, FRiends!
OK that's not actually MY arm next to that yellow door (photo above). Luckily my left - not right - arm is broken... and the ball didn't hit me in the head!
Believe it or not, I *was* paying attention! I guess I "misunderestimated" the track of the ball. ;-)
According to the x-ray techs who were on duty at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston on Friday night, Adrian Beltre has been linked to other broken bones this season:
Adrian Beltre Sends Another Red Sox Outfielder to DL as Jeremy Hermida has Broken Ribs (June 2010)
Jacoby Ellsbury has 4 fractured ribs (after colliding with Adrian Beltre, April 2010)
No hard feelings, Adrian... I know you were just doing your job. I just hope you'll sign the ball (yeah I got it, and the stitches on the ball left an impression!) the next time we're up at Fenway.
Took me forever to type this... hope I can get my left hand back soon... LOL
THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH for your good wishes!!
LOL!!
Hi Nutmeg! Best wishes for a speedy recovery!:)=^..^=
Or batting.
Oh dear, nutmeg!
Heal quickly!!!
Thanks FRiend! Lousy way to spend Jim V’s b-day, huh? ;-)
I’ll forgive you for being a Red Sox fan... ;-) Get better soon!
Yep, if you ever get back into the chatroom, just say to Jim, this is how I spent time on your B-day and have a good laugh showing a picture of the broken arm. :)=^..^=
LOL ... you’re an FR thread !!
Be well and follow the doc’s orders,
especially about movement and range
motions .. ;) I turned my arm over,
hand face up about 100 times a day
so I wouldn’t lose that range.
