We get USA Today Magazine insert in our Sunday paper. The cover yesterday has (in small print) "Sarah Palin Touches a Nerve with Our Readers." Out of curiosity I flipped through to find the article. What a joke! It was a one-page group of 'letters to the editor' (about 10 letters) regarding Palin's recent Mother's Day cover. All but one letter was hateful, dishonest, and downright nasty. Accusing her of having a "dysfunctional family" (huh?) and furious with USA Today Magazine for featuring her, calling it "inappropriate."
Where do they find these people? What's the deal with such vicious attacks on her? You would think in a letters to the editor piece, the insert would have balanced it out. I simply don't believe that 99 percent of readers have such awful things to say and would actually take the time to write a newspaper insert to say so.
I don't know how Palin takes this continual hatred on a daily basis. I was fuming after just reading this one page. She must have unhuman patience.
I read it and felt the same way as you.
The libs are so afraid of Palin that they can’t help but attack her every chance they get.
Whether one is pro or con on Palin, this kind of selective journalism is repugnant.
Bombs away Sarah.
They probably find these people as they exit after starring on the Jerry Springer show.
USA Today Magazine
Goes straight to the trash every Sunday.
“Where do they find these people? “
Those letters are no accident. This is how it works. The democratic committee hires a marketing company which then hires another one that has a group of people around the country to write letters for editorials. Common price is a couple hundred for each letter published. This way they bomb out the editorial staff..( which in most cases knows what is happening as they have alerted those marketing companies about the up coming article) and they publish articles based on public opinion they need. It is a common practice but most people do not know about it.
The saudis and other countries do it all the time.
The MSM has always been biased. Why be surprised?
I only skim it for recipes, or other cooking info. But will no longer.
How do you combat stuff like this? I thought about writing my own letter to the editor, but what’s the point? It won’t get published, will probably never even get read. They don’t care to hear letters from pro-Palin people, so there has to be another route to take.
Sarah Palin, a walking, talking, (stoking hot), harpie detector.
What’s funny is that one of the more angry letters was written by a woman who said she can’t believe that people complain about ‘liberal bias in the media’ because the Palin cover was a clear indication that no such thing exists!
You have a perfect indicator as to why circulation in newspapers is nose diving. Coverage like that without one iota of balance is why.
Why are you still reading the Sunday paper?
The old “See, both sides say we are biased, so we must not be.” Rather like saying, “Oklahoma is between Texas and the North Pole, so it must be exactly in the middle”.
A deliberate lie on their part. They know they are biased just like they hand-picked (or manufactured) those letters. They great thing is that they no longer make a pretense of their objectivity, so ratings and subscriptions have plummeted.
They hate Palin for who she is, and because they know they are losing the argument with the public. They are desperate and violent and will do anything to hang onto power.
This is just the print edition of American Idol.
leftist fear
They will get theirs. I believe in karma. They will get theirs right in the nose of these days.
Revenge is best served cold.
Hope she’s ready to dish it out.
Would you shut up about Palin and open borders?
See http://securetheborder.org/
Watch the main video.
And the one from May 19 in which Palin says “Every Border State Should Have Arizona’s Law.”
So who’s your candidate? What’s your agenda in taking Palin down with lies?
You do realize you’re no better than lying Dems or lying media when you keep lying about Palin?
For that matter, what other 2012 potential candidate is standing as strongly with Gov Brewer?
Is yours?
Yeah, I saw it and was going to post it but couldn’t because of Gannett’s cowardly copyright restrictions against FR. Just do a Google search for “USA Weekend” and “Two Mothers” and it immediately comes up.
The letters printed say a lot about both USA Weekend’s demented liberal readers and the rag itself, which felt that it had to publish such letters, without offering any positive letters to balance out the negative ones.
As it happens, the rag is now being taken to task by outraged Sarah supporters in the comments section beneath the online version of the piece. I say join the ticked off ladies and let them have it some more.
