Good (late) morning all...- have been able to listen in (sorta)...but mornings are now crazier than usual. I have a second parttime job now...so I have been meeting myself coming and going. Keeping my fingers crossed that I will (finally) get out of the ‘retail hell.’
Anywho...was on a thread over the weekend (came to the internet to read news and DESTRESS...bad move) because, much to my busy, busy life surprise, MAGLEV is rearing its ugly head...and I found (during my supposed r & r on the web...that my neighbor is ‘affected residential property.’ I live in a ‘yellow dot’ on Port Authority map!!!
Needless to say (the info here on FR came a Tribune Review article of last Friday-6/11). So then, a ciuple of phone calls from neighbors. All politics is really local.

With still another substitute host filling in for Rush Limbaugh today, have any of you “Quinn fans” ever wondered:
Why has Jim Quinn NEVER BEEN a substitute host for Rush. NEVER.
Seeing that I knew Rush/Jeff Christie and Jim back in the early 70’s here in Pittsburgh, I do wonder about this.
Jim was Rush’s/Jeff’s senior. Jim taught Limbaugh the ropes in radio.
Why in the world would Rush Limbaugh/Jeff Christie SHUN Jim Quinn in this way………. when most of the people in this country who have had the opportunity to hear Jim know that he is EXCELLENT.
Have any of you ever thought about this?

I WISH I could listen at work!!! Unfortunately, I work in an operating room & my ears are supposed to be tuned in to the alarms on all the patient mointors. What I wouldn’t give for a stay-at-home job.
I’d love to know the answer. I heard Hannity allude to the fact that Quinn has turned down such offers but I don’t know if that’s true. Judging from your post, I’m guessing its not.

I think Rush probably picks guest hosts who’s approach is most like his. I love Rush. However, he avoids certain subjects or he is, at the least, not as outspoken about them.
Quinn is more outspoken - something I appreciate. A case in point would be the birth certificate/natural-born citizen issue. Rush has referred to it, somewhat and just recently I believe he admitted that he is a ‘birther’ as well, but Quinn keeps the subject alive. I would love to see Quinn fill in for Chris Plante on WMAL in DC, and vice-versa. They both are unafraid to approach those issues. I could never envision Quinn doing his exploding pali child on Rush’s show. Wouldn’t THAT shock the heck out of Rush’s audience!! However, he might be able to carry it off on Chris Plante’s show~
In the end, though, I don’t know if that is the real reason. Perhaps there are other reasons that Quinn has not been asked. I’d love to see Quinn get more exposure. I think many stations are afraid he’s too ‘controversial’ though.
It is unfortunate, is it not, that the truth should be considered “controversial”?
I’m a records manager and I over-see the micro-imaging dept where I work. I spend a lot of time in solitude either filing in our basement, filming or scanning records. I catch up on all my favorite shows then. Quinn, Rush, Honest Conservatives Freedom Radio show and Levin. If I can sneak a download, I get Chris Plante. (Home computer takes forever to download it!) I love my job!
My husband spent several weeks in the hospital recently - two of those in ICU. The hospital personnel were the absolute best! He met only one nasty person there - and she was just an aide. Thank God for good people like you who care for the rest of us!

I don’t think its a ‘shun’ or bad blood between Rush/Quinn...IMO its more a Quinn doing what he wants to do (local yet syndicated—calls his own shots/schedule) rather than Quinn being TOLD what perimeters (no Pali-Child or ‘on the wings of a snow white dove’ bits) for ‘someone else.’
Quinn is close to ten years older than Limabugh...and he does refer to hearing somthing “on Limbaugh’s show’ quite frequently...so my guess, they are friendly.
I guess I should not have used the word, "shun", it was too strong. But it still amazes me that Jim has never done the show. He would be a huge hit.
Anyhow, you make a great deal of sense.
Jim certainly is much more "candid" and unguarded than Rush.
