LIMA, Peru (AP) - For all of his garrulous charm, Joran van der Sloot didn't do himself any favors in his online interactions, where his generation tends to reveal a lot about itself. "If I would have to describe myself as an animal it would be a snake," he wrote on his YouTube page. Perhaps wistfully wishing the past undone, he continued: "however, I want to be a lion and one day I will be a lion."
At age 22, Van der Sloot is now a caged animal. He sits in a bleak third-world prison, where he fears his fellow inmates. After requesting isolation, he shares a cellblock with a reputed Colombian murderer-for-hire.
Van der Sloot's journey from the quiet comfort of Aruba to being escorted briskly in handcuffs past Peruvian crowds screaming "murderer" is a tale of dissolution, deception and increasing desperation, according to friends and people who have chronicled his life.

This worm’s “confessions” are, at least, as dubious as any guess we might make here. Along with his telling sport of peeing in various places (Boy, Freud could work with this form of enjoyment!), he has a sport of weaving various lies at various moments. Van der Sloot is proud of this morally bankrupt aspect of his personality—that of being an unrepentant liar.
I’m thinkin’ this boy’s parents spent their time running interference between him and the law instead of TEACHING how to use judgment.

I also noticed that about him. Even when he smiled it was almost forced? Odd very odd.
That would be a good deal then of course when he got to the prision they could all say they don’t understand Dutch nor English. :)

I love all of the new information we’re just learning about how the brain works. Learning about the “judgment thing” gave me leave to forgive myself for my youthful stupidity.

As I said and will say again, I think he killed her for the money. I don’t believe his confession because he’s a sociopathic liar, and even if he believes that was the event that set him off, he probably wanted to kill her and take her money and that was just his “excuse”.

Eaxactly. I also believe he wanted the money because he was desperate for money and had funded his trip with money extorted from N Holloway’s mother. He used teh money he stole to fund his escape. Perhaps he doesn’t tell himself why he kills but he’s like a salicvating dog just waiting to take the other dog’s food, and then some opportunity sets him off.
There probably is no evidence, other than his word, that she struck him first.
If you’ve ever watched a sociopath with psychopathic tendencies operate, it’s easy for them to decide that others have wronged them, so they can inflict the result they intended in the first place.
Simply put... They took video of Joran and photogrqaphed him also at the same time. Joran was looking “up” at the evidence photographer who was standing in front of him and he was not looking into the video camera that was to the left of the standing evidence photographer.
But then, I guess you were there?
