Four earthquakes at Katla in past 12 hours
11 Jun 10 - Four earthquakes have occurred below Iceland's Mýrdalsjökull glacier during the past 12 hours - one within the past hour. Katla Volcano lies beneath the Mýrdalsjökull glacier.
Thanks to Thomas Loher for this info.
Olympia-Seattle. Next month.
;)
Dear Lord...don’t SAY that!
Not to worry. My predictions never come true.
Ugh.
And I have to fly back from Spain right over Iceland at the end of this coming week......
Also note the increasing anti-Semitism in Europe.
They say this is the next Volcano to blow as it has done in past years! This one would cause worldwide chaos...
Yes they are which the Bible also pints out..*As in the Days of Noah*....Many people do not heed the call, nor do they seek the truth and wisdom of the Creator of All...

Think about that if you have any doubts of a coming tribulation.
I am sorry.
I believe you are just hostile for no good reason.
Then let me try to explain it to you one more time. Your 'interpretations' of the data were flawed and when that was pointed out - the common gist of the reply was that the 'experts' (USGS and U of Utah) were clueless and that your prognostication was the correct one. When you earlier this thread said - Oh look at all the activity in Yellowstone just the past week - I posted the plot of earthquake activtivity in the yellowstone region for that past week - with only a half dozen mag 1 quakes. Clearly, as I noted, the seismograph you linked also records quakes around the world, so that just looking at ONE seismograph one cannot relate to the activity in the area. When I asked if YOU can interpret that data, you just linked me to a website CREATED by those very same experts who monitor geologic activity in the park. That shows me right there that you have a long way to go. Then to further extrapolate that an eruption in the park is about to occur (based upon the earth quake swarm of 6 months ago) or that the activity of the past week would result in an 'off-gassing' event - well what more can I say about that analysis. Is it supported by the additional data the 'experts' have on hand - no it is not, not even remotely.
I get critical because this is just bogus (doesn't even reach the level of 'bad') science. And I, as a professional geologist, am told "I" don't know what I am talking about and that I am "biased".
Earth science if extremely interesting, that is why I went into the field as a career. Even 'amateurs' can enjoy it, and the YS swarm was an interesting event - but that is all it was, one of many swarms that have been recorded every year. To extrapolate that into an impending eruption and a sky is falling scenario (remember the thread title) spreads false notions knee jerk reactions among those who do not know or understand what is being observed.
I attempted to point those things out in an effort to educate and inform, as I have done here and else where. I become "hostile" when bad science is bantered about as good science and expert interpretation dissed because it it "biased". Well, then just have a good day.
If that is how you interpreted my statement then I am sorry. I did not say that in the slightest.
I do not remember the exact words but I still believe this. The experts will inform the public of heighten alerts when there is gas venting or when there is an eminent eruption. You call it an interesting event which only experts should keep their eye on; I say it is interesting and which everyone should keep their eye on.
That is all I meant by that post nothing more nothing less.
Please read my posts more carefully and you will save a lot of time. I said nothing of the sort that only 'experts' should keep their eye on. I did say that they are the ones best informed as to predicting information. And that by stating an eruption was soon to occur (or even an off gassing event) - in the face of the experts saying otherwise, well who's listening to the experts and who's going out on the limb and predicting an event.
You want to watch the activity, great, that is why it is out there on the internet. Start talking about impending destruction based upon your observations, then you are straying into areas that have so far appeared to be beyond you. Have a nice day.

Hey, you started it...
I never said that.
funny, we are in more of agreement then you think.
Our disagreement is with informing the public to the dangers.
My opinion is/was an event that everyone should have their eye on. That is all ever wanted to get across.
No, it is the extent to which there was misinformation being presented.
