The next super conference?
WOOT been waiting for this news. Figured the decision would be made after all the other conference shuffling was done.

Additional article, doesn’t really need a new thread
hehehe...
Over the SEC, ACC or Big 10?
Considering the mediocrity in the ACC I would take TCU, BSU and Utah over any 3 from the ACC.
Yes. Gives them a better chance at high ranking bowl bids since for years now, they beat the crap out of the lackluster WAC which juiced their W&L results, but they would get dissed in BCS bids because strength of schedule comes into play.
I was hoping they could squeeze Boise State and Utah in the Pac-whatever but this will do for now. At least they have been recognized as a legitimate football program now.
but yet beat the big boys
Wouldn’t be surprised to find Kansas and K-State in the Mountain West when all the dust settles. That would give them two 6 team divisions and allow for a playoff. Kansas would also give their the division’s basketball a boost.
Utah, BYU, TCU and now BSU. Other conferences would do well not to ignore them.
All four have a very good chance every year of playing a BCS bowl game and winning.
Conference competition will be a dogfight.
I may have to get tickets for when BSU comes to Fort Worth.
The Mountain West deserves an automatic bid to BCS much more than the Big Least.
You didn't need to convince any of my family that lives in Oklahoma.
I frankly thought if the SEC was looking at raiding the Big 12, Kansas would be a good target.
The reason being, the SEC is set with football, but getting Kansas would definitely raise their stock in college basketball.
That’s just a temporary situation. NC, Duke, BC and UVa would attract more first choice bids than any of those third tier schools.
Don’t be surprised if the Kansas BB team goes independant. They could make a boatload of money.
Agreed. I’ve seen Boise St play and they are a very well coached and talented teams.
I wasn’t dissing them in anyway. They have my respect.
Just saying the move was all about increasing bowl bid.
No. This isn't football where independents can get by. There are only 5 schools playing Division I basketball as independents, and none of them are in Kansas' league. With the number of games that colleges play over the course of the season you have to be part of a conference to get any kind of decent schedule.
It’s Kansas. They could put together a great schedule as a BB independent.
