From everything I’ve researched, he didn’t prevent it from happening either. It’s time these guys were held accountable for the sake of the kids left behind

Part of college football is probably having these people around to scout and to get familiar with talent.

Yes, it’s not uncommon for scouts and agents to show up at games

I think the problem that schools and coaches have is that if that activity isn’t happening regarding interest in players, then the players might consider the school not in their best interest.
The fine line crossed is if an agent or other made payments or bought things.
That IMO is a reflection on the player.
If the alumni or school coaches knew of facilitated illegal payments or whatever, then that is where the hammer should come down IMO.
We’ll see where it goes from here.

If the alumni or school coaches knew of facilitated illegal payments or whatever If is subjective ie: What IF Carroll was receiving payments for allowing these agents into the locker room and on the field. Now we're talking collusion. Yes, we'll see where it goes from here

It is the conclusions drawn and acted upon from what isn’t known facts that SHOULD land this in court.

I wouldn’t be surprised if an investigation started prior to the announcement

The NCAA made their ruling.
I think they’ve been taken to court before and LOST.
If USC thinks for sure there is nothing there and that this will not inflame their reputation by fighting this, then they will.
If they think it is better to take this, let it die down and to suck up to the NCAA, then they will do that.
For a school that likes to say “Fight On”, they should do it unless they agree with the NCAA.

I’m kicking myself for not disrupting other threads — there’s more than enough blame to go around (Kardashians, Cheneys, Bruins....).

IIRC, after the SMU thing went down, the new method was to have alumni do the paying directly to the players so the colleges could keep their hands clean. The NCAA then made rules that told the colleges they were responsible for player conduct. The most common methods of paying players off were non-existant jobs and car loans that were never paid off.
If a player that didn't have two nickels to rub together before he went to college starts rolling around in a brand new car and has a ton of spending money, that should set off flags. Dittos if his parents move into a brand new house.
