The Pac-10 conference announced Thursday that the University of Colorado has agreed to leave the Big 12 to join its conference. "This is an historic moment for the Conference, as the Pac-10 is poised for tremendous growth," commissioner Larry Scott said in a statement. "The University of Colorado is a great fit for the Conference both academically and athletically and we are incredibly excited to welcome Colorado to the Pac-10.

Also what happens to Texas-Oklahoma?

The AD at OU says they'll go with Texas.

Well it is looking like the all four Texas schools going together isn’t going to happen.

OU makes a lot more sense than Baylor going to the SEC.

What if the Big 12 can be saved? Replace the leaving teams with Utah, TCU and potentially Boise State.

I posted this on other threads, but Texas, Oklahoma and Nebraska are Marcia. Tech, A&M, and Oklahoma State are Jan. Everyone else is Ugly Betty.

“I like Great Western Conference.”

Has a nice ring to it.

If you go in that direction I’d actually expand to 16 and pick up Utah BYU TCU Rice or Houston, Boise State and maybe another depending on how many left in this latest merry-go-round.

Wouldn't those schools need to be interested in leaving their conferences first? Why would they want to?

Just heard that on the radio here...in OK.

They said UT was maybe offered a spot in the SEC???

Personally I think the best fit would be a PAC-16....Two divisions, AZ ST., AZ, OSU, OU, UT, A & M, TECH ,and CU.

And the original Pac-10 less the AZ teams......

You have some of the best viewer-ship numbers in all of those towns....and all the Big-10 teams would get more money....

And frankly, that's what it's all about. THE MONEY!!!

I'd like that better than Pac 10. And if it's true, expect OU, A&M, TT to follow. Maybe even Baylor and OSU.

“Been saying all along that if the SEC wants Texas, they will get Texas.

It would restore the rivalry with Arkansas.”

I think they should go to the SEC. It makes much more sense than the PAC 10. But it looks to me like U.T. (The Leftist Admin.) has been fighting desparately to stay out of the SEC. They’ve already tried to join the PAC 10 when the Big 12 was formed but were turned down.

Maybe. But SEC makes more sense fun wise. I'd much rather see UT, A&M and OU go up against the likes of Arkansas, LSU, Bama, etc.

But that's just my humble opinion.

They’d be in a premiere conference and get the competition they’re longing for. It would only make them better.

The only thing that matters anymore are where are the bucks? Can they get a better financial deal in what's left of the Big 12 than where they are? I don't know the answer to that.

Yes, they can get a better financial deal in the Big 12.

In the old Big 12, yes I would agree. But right now we're probably talking about the Big 6 once the 3 Texas and 2 Oklahoma teams leave. Any TV package that the conference had before is now out the window, and they're now going to have to renegotiate a package where St. Louis is their largest TV market. From a financial standpoint I think your three teams will feel they're better off where they're at.

That’s why I’m saying: Texas should leave the charge to SAVE the Big 12 by replacing Colorado and Nebraska with TCU, Utah or BSU. It would certainly stall any PAC expansions. And the Big Ten would pretty much be limited as well.

Other than saving the Big 12, the SEC makes the most sense, IMO. It would be the premiere conference, hands down. And the money it would bring in would be astounding.
